The OLYMPUS OMCL-AC240TS series silicon AFM probes feature an AFM tip with ‘TipView structure’ that makes it easy to estimate the position of the AFM tip relative to the sample measurement site. The sharpened, tetrahedral, point-terminated AFM tip has very good symmetry when viewed from the front and is inclined when viewed from the side.

The OLYMPUS OMCL-AC240TS AFM cantilever has a nominal force constant of 2N/m, which is the smallest among the OLYMPUS silicon AFM cantilevers for dynamic mode, and keeps the load between the sample and the AFM tip low. Therefore, it is suitable for measuring viscoelasticity and measuring soft samples.

The AFM probe is made of silicon with low resistivity in the range 0.01-0.02Ω.cm. The back side of the AFM cantilever is coated with a thin aluminum reflective coating.

The parallel sidewalls of the holder chip make handling with tweezers easy and eliminate problems with chipping and debris. The holder chip does not feature alignment grooves.

  • We provide comprehensive pre- and after-sales support to assist our customers as effectively as possible with their applications. This is made possible through our contractual agreements with the most important AFM brands on the market, all of which we distribute: NANOSENSORS™, NanoWorld®, MikroMasch®, BudgetSensors®, OPUS™, sQube® and nanotools. Unfortunately, our agreement with OLYMPUS for the resale of their AFM products does not allow us to provide this same level of extensive support. This means that support for OLYMPUS' products can only be provided within the scope of their own services.
  • Olympus alone are responsible for technical support of their products. Olympus will provide limited support for these products for some period of time. The official end of support deadline is expected to be announced by Olympus in 2025. NanoAndMore will announce it here accordingly.
  • At NanoAndMore, we are reselling Olympus AFM probes as they are. NanoAndMore will not replace boxes of Olympus AFM probes that Olympus is not willing to replace.
  • Olympus does not consider the stiffness or force constant of their AFM probes to be a specification that justifies product replacement. This means that even in cases of significant deviation from the nominal force constant specification, Olympus will not accept customer complaints or provide free replacements. If this is not acceptable to you, please contact us, and we will suggest an alternative product from a different manufacturer.
